Desmon is always careful on every single step of a product life cycle, from design to disposal, having in mind an intention to reduce an impact on environment and create benefits for customers from decreasing energy costs.
The company is one of the firsts manufacturer of commercial refrigeration in the world using cyclopentane for the thermal insulation of the products, which does not damage an ozone layer and does not make a greenhouse effect. Cyclopentane replaces polyurethane foams based on HCFCs and CFCs wich destroy an ozone layer and generate the greenhouse effect.
The company has also developed refrigeration units that use R290 natural gas as a refrigerant.
The innovative insulation system alternative to polyurethane foam, consist of panels containing insulating material in powder under vacuum. In this way you get a thermal insulation of refrigerators, freezers and blast chillers. Advantages:
- reductions in energy consumption in the order of 40% compared to traditional polyurethane insulation system under equal conditions of isolation,
- reduction of the use of polyurethane for thermal insulation, and this positively affects reducing emissions of cyclopentane in the atmosphere during the foaming.
In conclusion this kind of technology allows to safeguard the environment both by reducing C02 emissions during operation of the final product, both HCFC emissions during production of the same, and at the same time allows the product to have a grater energy efficiency.
To confirm the constant effort, Desmon obtained the ISO 14001 certification.
